This pandemic is taking a toll on every sphere of our lives. Like every other organization, we, too, have been grappling with adapting to the changes brought about by the lockdown. But the warrior-spirit and solidarity of our employees have brought some solace in this otherwise arduous journey. In this article, we, the HR team of Adda52 want to share a glimpse of how our journey has been till now.

When it began

From days to weeks to months, and now it feels like forever since this global outbreak began. We were among the very first organizations to arrange a work from home setup for our dear employees because we have always kept the safety and health of our employees above anything else.

March 8, 2020, Woman’s Day, was probably our last physical celebration together and right after that, we decided to shift our workplace to a virtual setup. We had started working from home much before the lockdown was announced. However, we did not even imagine that instead of just a phase, work from home would become the new normal for the longest time.

Our contribution to the society

Considering ourselves a socially responsible organization, we always strive to give back to the society in every way we can. In these times of need, we decided to come together as a community and do our bit in this fight against the pandemic by contributing 2.5 Lakh to the COVID-19 Relief Fund.

Not only this, we also encouraged others to take a pledge with us to stand united and defeat this virus by putting extra efforts, especially for the ones who need it the most.

Virtual motivation sessions by our CEO

Our CEO, Naveen Goyal, has not left any stone unturned in being there for each and every one of us in these uncertain times. Whether it is a work-related issue or some personal stress, we can always count on Naveen to have our backs even when he has to go the extra mile. He has been in regular touch with each one of us through telephonic and video conversations, and frequent town halls. Moreover, we all look forward to his Sunday emails which are nothing less than words of wisdom, where he bestows us with immense hope, bliss, and motivation.

Hiring and getting stronger together

Due to the pandemic, the whole world is facing an economic turmoil at some level. The looming uncertainty is resulting in loss of jobs, opportunities, and hope. Many people have become victims of unemployment, some have been furloughed while others are working twice as hard to keep their jobs, even if it means working with a pay cut. But even in these unprecedented times, Adda52 is hiring rigorously and creating jobs for many talented people around the country.

Virtual hiring and on-boarding is not easy. From virtual interviews to induction, we ensure to continue making the new employees feel at home. Thanks to the dedication of our robust team, the whole process has throughout been a rather seamless one.

Keeping our employees engaged

Work culture is not just restricted to physical workplace. In fact, now it has become more important than ever. Keeping employees engaged in a virtual arrangement can be a hard nut to crack but as a family, it is our responsibility to stay in touch and keep cherishing this unbreakable bond with each other.

We keep engaging our employees in some virtual fun activities every once in a while. For instance, we asked our employees to record on video a glimpse of how they are working from home and then, we turned it into a beautiful work-from-home video journal.

Not only this, even if it’s virtual, we still never fail to come together as a family and celebrate every occasion together. Recently, we celebrated Yoga Day by challenging each other to partake in a fun yoga challenge and also keeping a small reward for the winner to add to the excitement.

The special poker tournament

We wanted to do something unique for our employees to keep their morale high at all times. So, we did what we do best – online poker tournament but this time, exclusively for Adda52 family. It was a day full of thrill, fun, and nostalgia, and overwhelming emotions. The 40k prize pool of the tournament was like the cherry on the top. This virtual activity took everyone’s breath away and made us transcend to the golden old days!

On caring, sharing, and growing together

We care for each other’s well-being, we share our joys and sorrows, and we grow by lifting and growing one another. We understand the importance of being there for each other, especially during such hard times. We make sure all salaries are paid on time so our employees do not get disheartened.

In addition to this, we do not want to miss any chance to appreciate our employees who are shedding their blood, sweat, and tears to adapt to the new ways of working in such a commendable manner. We ensured to conduct appraisals and give bonuses even during this period because we believe that in these times, they need and deserve it even more.

To add to this, we strive to provide strong health-care support to our employees at all times because a healthy employee is a happy employee. There is nothing more precious to us than the health, safety, and happiness of our Adda52 family.

Final thoughts

This untoward journey can be really gruelling sometimes but with a family like ours, there is nothing we cannot conquer together. It is only in the times of crisis when strong bonds emerge. That being said, together, as a community, our goal is not just to be there for each other, but for the whole society, country, and the world. With our rich and positive culture, we want to make the whole world a better, healthier, and safer place to live in.
