The 2016 WPT National China kicks off in October next month at the spectacular MGM Grand Sanya for the straight 5th consecutive year. The seven-day tournament is scheduled from 28th October and 3rd November and will feature 888 entries capped Main Event which brings RMB 8.88 million in guaranteed prize money. MGM Grand Sanya is one of the most popular stops for the WPT( World Poker Tour) located in the beautiful city Sanya, which recently has made waves in the gaming industry by hosting various gaming events.

Sanya, situated on the southernmost tip of Hainan Island, is the second largest city in Hainan Province. It is a world famous coastal tourist city with tropical landscapes, beaches, rivers, gardens, parks, bars, spas, resorts and hotels. The city serves as an important port for import and export of trade with other countries. The climate is hot in summer but favorable in other seasons. We know that many poker players and fans are heading to Sanya to join the WPT National China 2016 next month. Getting There

The airport in Sanya welcomes international flights from key cities of India such as Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi. The average travel time takes about 9-13 hours. Please read the following tips to get there:

  • Book your tickets in advance for better rates on airfare and accommodation.
  • Pack all important items you need to carry during your trip.
  • Make sure you check-in on time and have baggage-tag to avoid hassles at Sanya airport.
  • Once you land at airport, find a suitable taxi service to get to MGM Grand Sanya. It is at a distance of 34 Kilometers from the airport.

A popular tourist Getaway to China, it feels more tropical with its sun-drenched shores, exotic beaches, white sand, palm trees, warm sunshine, blue sea and fresh air. Tianya Haijiao is just 24 kilometres away from here. The other famous tourist sights in the city include Dadonghai, Asian Dragon Bay and Sanya Bay. North of the city is Wuzhizhou Island that attracts a large number of tourists all the year-round. The Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone is just 40 kilometres west of Sanya. Finally, you can pay a visit to Nanshan Temple , which is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in the city.

While in Sanya, you mustn’t miss out on shopping at the famous shopping centres such as Dadonghai Jiefang Road and Hongqi Street. Here, you can shop local specialities such as handicrafts made of seashells, horn-ware, coconut shell, squid and pepper. In addition, you can buy beautiful pearl and crystal products. You can also enjoy various tropical fruits such as banana, durian, mangosteen, wampee, litchi, torches fruit, carambola, and rose apple. Finally, a suit of local cloth is a must-to-shop item in Sanya. These clothes come printed with tropical pictures like coconut tree, sea, sunshine, etc.
