Rummy Tournaments
At Adda52.com, apart from the single table games (such as 101 pool, 201 pool, Best of Three, 13 card Points, 21 card points), the users can play multi table tournaments.
While only a limited number of people (usually upto 4 or 6) can play in single table games, these tournaments provide the opportunity to play with several 10's or even 100's of players. The prizes in these tournaments are also often quite attractive. These tournaments can be either freeroll i.e. they are free to enter or paid.
Tournaments are started based on a fixed schedule. Normally the tournaments that are upcoming can be seen in the game lobby. Inorder to participate in a tournament, a user has to register for it. The registration can be done from within the game lobby.
Once registered, the user can see his name in the list of participants. In case the user has registered in advance for the tournament, he needs to make sure that he is logged in and the game lobby is open at the time when the tournament is supposed to start.
When the tournament starts, the players are automatically seated on different tables (randomly). Each table typically seats 4 players. Suppose there are 70 players participating in a tournament, 18 tables would get launched simultaneously. The player would find himself seated on one of the tables.
All players start with a fixed number of chips at the start of the tournament. The game play at any table proceeds like a normal 13 card points game. As time progresses, some people win and accumulate more chips, while others lose their chips. For every table, there is an elimination threshold and a points multiplier. Points multiplier is used to convert winning / losing points into chips. The elimination threshold is the minimum number of chips that a user must have to avoid elimination.
Both the elimination threshold and points multiplier increase as time progresses. Every time they change, the players are informed of the updated values. If a player who is losing, his chips fall below the elimination threshold, he is eliminated from the tournament i.e. he cannot take part further in the tournament.
As time progresses and players are eliminated, the number of participants on each table reduces. Tables that started out full start having vacant seats. The software automatically keeps merging tables so that users from two different tables merge and start playing together.
At all times, the user carries his tournament chips further into the tournament. This means, even if the table for a player merges with another table, he carries his existing chips on the merged table to continue playing.
As tournament progresses and players are eliminated, the finalists land up on 1 final table. On this table, again the same elimination rules are applicable and whoever stays till the end is declared the winner of the tournament.
The ranking in the tournament is based on the time of elimination. A player who gets eliminated earlier has a lower rank compared to a player who gets eliminated later. Often the tournaments at adda52 have multiple winners and apart from the 1st ranked player, the other players are also awarded some prizes.
