Poker Starting Hands QQ

Texas Holdem – How to Play QQ

Pocket queens (QQ) are without doubt the prettiest starting poker hands. They are the third highest starting poker hands in Texas hold’em and should be given due respect while playing.

Don’t get into a raising war

Raising pre-flop especially when in position is surely the way to play them in the online poker game. If you raise out of position then chances are you run into a re-raise and chances are its aces or kings. That becomes tricky and if someone decides to follow an aggressive poker strategy and raise again, then it is an all out war and chances are your queens will go down. So never get married to your cards, weigh your position and decide to raise is the best poker tip for pocket queens.

Never limp in with queens

Even when playing against tight players, never limp in with queens. Limping in will always run you into trouble with queens. It is a big hand but very vulnerable and if you don’t raise and get the chasers out of the way, there is a 45% chance that you will see an over card on the flop.

When Played at Adda52

Adda52 saw a high pot win for pocket queens in the Sunday Online Poker Finals on 8th April 2012. When player mpad saw Qd Qh in middle position and table average stack, he raised all in. He got two callers in ram786 and jailulla with Jd 9C and Kh Ac respectively. Both with stacks below table average called and saw the three way flop. Qh 4d 10d was the flop and victory favored the brave. mpad flopped his set and the turn was 8c. The river was 3d which meant the trips were the highest.
