David F. Grey was born in Henderson, Nevada, on April 9, 1966. Some sources say he began in New York’s Long Island and later moved to Las Vegas in 1984. He initially worked as a horse handicapper and spent time at racetracks, bowling alleys, and pool halls before transitioning to poker. He played Seven-Card Stud at Caesars Palace around 1985 and taught himself by studying Doyle Brunson’s books.
