Dhaval Mudgal was born into a family that comes from the arts. His father, Justice Mukul Mudgal, is a retired Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice. His mother, Shubha Mudgal, is a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist. Even Dhaval Mudgal joined a Delhi-based rock band, Half Step Down, as a vocalist.
