Background
Dominik Miciej Pańka was born on March 27, 1991, in Brześć Kujawski, Poland. He grew up with a strong interest in logic and science. His father even designed crosswords. He studied economics at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He later earned a bachelor’s before quitting to pursue poker full-time.
Dominik Panka's Poker Career
Dominik has been playing online since November 2009. He has different usernames for platforms, such as gardze_wami on PokerStars and 888poker, odom_pl on Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.FR, and odompl on partypoker.
He won his first cash finish in a live tournament in July 2012. Two years later, he won the Main Event of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventures in the Bahamas and over $1.4 million. Under a month later, he also won the High Roller of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Deauville and took 272,000 euros home.
At the end of August 2014, he finished 11th in the EPT Main Event in Barcelona and won 80,000 euros. The following year, he reached the final table of the EPT Main Event and finished 3rd in Malta for almost 350,000 euros.
In March 2017, he won the High Roller of the Merit Poker Western Tournament in Cyprus, earning $115,000. In July, he played in the World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip and cashed in a No-Limit Hold'em tournament.
In September 2018, he finished 3rd in the High Roller of the Merit Gangsters Poker Cup in Cyprus, winning just under $130,000. In September 2021, he won a tournament at the World Series of Poker online, taking $185,000 and a bracelet home.
