Background
Maria Eduarda "Maridu" Mayrinck was born on May 15, 1978. He was born and lived in Rio de Janeiro, and studied at the American School in Gávea until she was 11 years old. Later, she moved to New York with her family, where she lived most of her life. She graduated from two colleges, Economics and Political Science, and completed a master's in Cinema at the University of California/San Diego.
Maridu Mayrinck's Poker Career
Maridu launched her blog, Need an Ace, in 2006. The blog gained international attention for its wit and insights. The following year, in 2007, she became the first Brazilian woman to join the PokerStars Team Pro and gained sponsorship and international recognition.
In 2009, she finished 43rd in the European Poker Tour (EPT) Main Event and won $20,376. In April 2011, she left PokerStars Team Pro to focus on Brazilian poker development and other personal projects.
