Personal Life
Rahul lives in Bangalore which is also nicknamed as the Garden City. He started playing the card game while he was pursuing higher education in Birmingham. Along with the passage of time, his passion towards the game continued to grow. Rahul Melwani often travels on a regular basis to Goa to participate in the Poker tournaments.
Tournaments
Rahul Melwani has an impressive poker career and also tournament record. In his career, he has so far has been successful to make it to the 11 final table finishes among which the India Poker Series chapter 6 win is very significant for him because he secured the first position and also won a whopping cash of INR 2,75,000.
Rahul has played many tournaments held in India. Recently, he has played and won the top position in the India Poker Series - Chapter 11 in the 12K Re-Entry - Flight to main event winning a cash worth cash INR 2,00,000.
In the year 2011, Rahul Melwani played in various tournaments but could not able to mark his impression. In December, Rahul played and secured the 5th position in the India Poker Series - Chapter 9 in the 7.5K Re-Entry Freeze Out.
In the same month, he played in the APT Asian Series Goa 2011 in the 5K Freezeout event but finished 4th position and winning a cash reward of INR 32000.
In the Aces Unlimited 4 Seasons of Poker - Winter Edition, he played in the 5K Greed (Freeze-Out) and Re-Entries event and won cash worth INR 102375.
He also tried his luck in the India Poker Pros - IPP September Edition in the 10K Freezeout and Re-entry event but could not make to the top position and ultimately finished in the 5th position.
Rahul again played in the India Poker Series-Chapter 8 in the 15K Freeze-Out Tournament held in November. But despite his efforts, he only managed to capture the 4th position and won cash worth INR 75,000.
In August, 2011, Rahul participated in the Aces Unlimited - 4 Seasons of Poker - Autumn Edition in the 12K Bounty and Max Bounty and Re-Entries event but finished 5th position. In the same month, he also played in the Aces Unlimited - 4 Seasons of Poker - Autumn Edition in the 20K Freeze-Out (Main Event) and won INR 2,00,000 after he finished in the 3rd position.
Rahul hardly give a miss to any poker tournament held in India. In August, 2011, he played in the India Poker Championship (IPC) Aug, 2011 in the 6K Double-Bubble event but could not won it and secured the 6th position wining a cash reward of INR 35,000.
In the India Poker Open (IPO) May Series 5K Rebuy event he was able to make it to the position 9.
The only India Poker Series that he has so far won is the IPS -Chapter 6 in the 15K Freezeout and earned a cash reward worth INR 2,75,000.
In the April, 2011, he made every effort to win the India Poker Championship - IPC Apr, 2011 in the 12K Headhunters but eventually ended in 4th position. The other India Poker Championship tournaments that he played IPC Apr, 2011 (20K Big Game event) but finished 7 position; IPC Feb, 2011 (20K Freezeout) capturing the 8th position and IPC Dec, 2010 (25K Freezeout) and finished in the 8th position and won a cash of INR 60000.
