How to play Texas Hold’em?
Rules to play Texas Hold’em are quite simple yet a little complex. You can start playing anytime after learning the basics but to master the game, you need to practice and continuously improve your knowledge and playing skills.
In Texas Hold’em, a player needs to create the best five-card combination to win a hand. Every player gets two cards (hole cards) face down. Total of five cards (community cards) are showed on the table to every player in the betting rounds (first 3 cards on flop, 1 card on turn, and 1 on river). Players need to arrange best combination of five cards using his hole cards and community cards. He can use hole cards (one or both) along with community cards (3 or 4) or no hole cards at all and just use community cards to form a hand.
Dealer
The player on the button position becomes dealer of the hand who needs to deal the cards to every player. The button position moves clockwise after completion of every hand. Dealer is also the last player to act in all post-flop rounds. After cards distribution to every player on the table, the betting rounds begin clockwise, starts with player sitting immediate left to the button. Every player needs to take an action (check/fold/bet) on his turn.
Blinds
Blinds are forced bets to initiate betting. The players sitting on the left side of the dealer button need to post blinds. The player sitting immediate left to the dealer have to post small blind and the next player posts big blind to start the betting round.
Players can fold their cards in any round if they don’t want to continue betting. At the showdown (end of all betting rounds), the remaining players show their cards and the player with the best hand wins the pot.
