Craps Game

Introduction

Craps game is a popular craps casino card game that has been played for over a century. It is a dice game in which players place bets on the outcome of a roll, or a series of rolls, of two dice. The game is fast-paced and exciting, with a range of different betting options available to players. It can be played on various craps game online sites. In this blog, we will take a closer look at the history, rules, and different types of bets in a crap game.

History of Craps Game

Craps card game was developed in the United States & is a simplified version of the western European game of hazard. Craps got popular during World War II, and because of that young American men started playing them. The street version of craps got notable amongst service members who often played it using a blanket as a shooting surface.

How to Play Craps Games?

In craps, the player who rolls the dice is known as the "shooter." The game begins with a "come-out" roll, during which the shooter must roll a 7 or 11 to win, or a 2, 3, or 12 to lose. If the shooter rolls any other number, that number becomes the "point." The shooter then continues to roll the dice until either the point number is rolled again (in which case the shooter wins), or a 7 is rolled (in which case the shooter loses).

The game of craps is played on a large table with high sides, called a "craps table." The table is marked with various areas for different types of bets, and two dealers manage the game and pay out winnings.

Types of Bets in Craps

There are two main types of bets in craps: "line bets" and "single-roll bets." Line bets are placed before the come-out roll and are based on the shooter's ability to roll a certain number. Single-roll bets are placed on the outcome of the next roll.

  • Line Bets

The most common line bets in craps are the "pass line" bet and the "don't pass" bet. In the pass-line bet, the player is betting that the shooter will win. In the don't pass bet, the player is betting that the shooter will lose. These bets pay even money (1:1) and have a low house edge of around 1.4%.

Another popular line bet is the "come bet," which is similar to the pass line bet but is placed after the come-out roll. The player is betting that the shooter will win on the next roll after the come bet is placed.

  • Single-Roll Bets

Single-roll bets are based on the outcome of the next roll of the dice. Some of the most popular single-roll bets in craps include:

"Any Seven" - betting that the next roll will be a 7.

"Field" - betting that the next roll will be a 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12.

"Craps" - betting that the next roll will be a 2, 3, or 12.

"Yo" - betting that the next roll will be an 11.

Single-roll bets can have higher payouts than line bets, but they also have a much higher house edge, often over 10%.

Craps is a fast-paced and exciting casino game that offers a wide range of betting options to players. While it can seem intimidating at first, the basic rules of the game are easy to understand. With a little bit of practice, players can develop their strategies and enjoy the thrill of the craps table.
