Berry Johnston was born on September 25, 1935. It is believed that Berry started playing poker at the age of 35. He played at the highest stakes against some of the best players of that time such as Chip Reese and Doyle Brunson.

Berry Johnston spend much of his time playing online poker representing Full Tilt Poker tournaments and also the poker ambassadors for Cherokee Casino based in Oklahoma.

Tournaments
Berry Enfield Johnston has played numerous poker tournaments in his career thus challenging many legendary poker players. In 1982, which is considered to be one of his most important achievements, he finished third in the $10,000 Championship Event at the World Series.
In 1983, Berry won the first WSOP bracelets.
In 1986, he became extensively well known as the World Champion by defeating Gary “Bones” Berland and Jesse Alto. He made to the final table for a third time in the year 1990.
In total, he has also won four other bracelets at the World Series of Poker apart from the wins and cashes in other tournaments throughout his career.
Berry Johnston is also known among a few of the poker players who won the gold bracelet as World Series of Poker Championship Event.
Johnston also finished in the 5th in the 1990 World Series. In his poker career, he successfully made his way to 26 final tables at the WSOP. And in case of money winnings, he has finished at least 54 times.
He is also popular for cashing 10 times in the WSOP Main Event when compared to other poker players.
In 2007, Johnston won his last cash in the Main Event and finished in 113th place by competing over thousands of proficient players and ultimately won $58,570. Till the year 2010, his winnings in live tournament exceeded the amount $3,450,000.
Besides holding the record of winning cash every year since 1982 till 2010, this poker player also holds record for longest streaks at 29 years.
In the 2008 World Series of Poker, Berry Johnston cashed three times and holds the 42nd position on the World Series of Poker all time money list. Presently, he holds the 4th place for the World Series of Poker all-time cashes list by claiming 57 cashes as of 2009.
He not only participated in World Series of Poker but also played on the popular NBC’s Poker After Dark Series and threw challenge to some of the highly admired poker players.
Berry Johnston won World Series of Poker Bracelets in the following years: 1983 in the $2,500 Match Play, 1986 in the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em World Championship, 1990 in the $2,500 Limit Hold'em, 1995 in the year $1,500 Limit Omaha and 2001 in the 1,500 Razz.
